Happy St. Martin day :)

Sposobów na świętowanie 11 listopada jest ostatnio coraz więcej, do wesołych festynów, parad, biegów po – niestety- rozruchy w mieście.

11th of November is Polish Independent Day. The celebrations vary through the country, from cheerful festivals, through parades and marathons through city riots. This year together with Anka we spent the day in Poznan.

W Poznaniu nie tylko świętujemy tego dnia odzyskanie niepodległości, ale także obchodzimy imieniny patrona miasta tj. Św. Maricna. W tym roku świętujemy z Anką i mam nadzieję, że wszyscy w Poznaniu spędzają ten dzień jedząc rogale Świętomarcińskie (najsmaczniejsze są te z białym makiem i lukrem – palce lizać J  i oglądają paradę.

In Poznan, we celebrate not only the Independent Day ont the 11th of November but also our City’s Patron day – St. Martin. There is also a special dish prepared for that day – Rogale świętomarcińskie. It is yummy croissant with white poppy-seed inside. Absolutely scrumptious. Love it, love it, love it.

For years now there is a huge colourful, vivid, lively parade of funny, strange and cute creatures going through the city centre. Everyone is smiling, everyone is happy.

Make sure that you are in the Stary Rynek, the Old Market at 12:00 as this is the time when the goat's butting is performed :)
