Słoneczna niedziela z wieżą Eiffela. Ruszamy rano, bilety co prawda mamy zarezerwowane na 12, ale chcemy być wcześniej, żeby na spokojnie pospacerować, porobić zdjęcia. Pogoda przepiękna jak na połowę października, słońce świeci, błękitne niebo, liście w jesiennych kolorach. Z góry widać całe miasto, próbujemy odnaleźć te najważniejsze punkty - katedra Notre Dame, most Alexandra, Łuk Triumfalny, Montemarte. Wieczorem wracamy, to już po drugiej stronie Sekwany, plac Trocadero i niesamowity widok na oświetloną wieżę.
Sunny Sunday by the Eiffel Tower. Although our entry is at noon, we are leaving the apartment quite early to have time for a walk and some pictures :) It is really beautiful day, sun is shining, blue sky above us, trees all in autumn colours. We can see the whole city from the summit, Notre Dame cathedral, Invalides Square, Montmarte are clearly seen far in the sun. Evening pictures are from Trocadero Square on the other bank of the Seine River. The Tower is glittering in the lights.
Wysoka na 324 m, wieża Eiffela jest rozpoznawalnym na całym świecie symbolem Paryża. Ażurowa konstrukcja projektu Gustava Eiffela powstała w 1889 roku na otwarcie wystawy światowej. Na początku sami Paryżanie nie byli nią jednak zachwyceni. Uważali, że nie pasuje do Paryża. Co niektórzy przesiadywali dzień w dzień w kafejce na pierwszym piętrze, bo z tego miejsca nie było jej widać ;) Wieża w Paryżu jest najbardziej znanym i spektakularnym lecz nie jedynym projektem zrealizowanym w Europie przez Gustva Eiffela. Jego dziełem jest np. olbrzymi wiadukt w Port (warto się wybrać, super widok z piwnicami Sandemana w tle :)
Eiffel Tower is one of the most popular Towers in the whole world. The latticework, high for 324m was named after Gustav Eiffel, French engineer and architect. It was built in 1889 for the World's Fair in Paris. At the beginning people disliked it. They thought that this hidious construction is only destroying the landscape. Some of them were day after day sitting in the cafe at the 1st floor saying that it is the only place from where it can not be seen :) The tower in Paris is well known but not the only project of Gustav Eiffel in Europe. It is worth to mentioned the bridge in Porto (amazing view to the historic part of the city with Sandeman cellars beneath it :)
