Jesień na Montmartre

Trudno nie zachwycić się Montmartre'm...nie  mówię tylko o bazylice Sacre-Coeur górującej nad całym wzgórzem, ale też o starych kamienicach porośniętych kolorowymi liśćmi, wąskich uliczkach, schodkach w góre i w dół, kafejkach, malarzach, placach w rudych liściach, pięknych latarniach.

Na Montmartre dostaliśmy się oczywiście metrem, jest to najszybszy i najwygodniejszy sposób transportu. Z placu Republique jedziemy pomarańczową linią do Gare de I'Est, przesiadamy się na fuksjową czwrókę do stacji Barbes, dalej granatową dwójką do Anvers. Jesteśmy na miejscu. Z metra do bazyliki prowadzi jedna mała uliczka napakowana sklepikami z pamiątkami, żeby przypadkiem nikt nie zapomniał kupić pamiątek ;)

Basylika Sacre-Coeur zbudowana pod koniec XIX w. bardzo nawiązuje do sztuki bizantyjskiej, gdzieś  przeczytałam, że jest to przykład historyzmu, ruchu który był bardzo popularny w czasach romantyzmu. Wnętrze pokryte kolorowymi mozaikami, małe kafelki w kolorze złota, granatu i czerwieni pokazujące Jezusa i sceny biblijne, sprawiają niesamowite wrażenie.

Resztę dnia spędzamy spacerując uliczkami, zachwycając się placami, schodkami, kafejkami, obserwując jesień na Montmartre. Dzień kończymy w deszczu pod Moulin Rouge i z placu Pigalle wracamy metrem do domu :)

It's hard not to love Montmartre and I am talking not only about the Sacre-Coeur Basilica sitting proudly at the top of the hill but also about old houses, narrow streets, little steps up and down, cosy Cafes, painters, artists, places covered with autumn leaves, beautiful street lamps.

We got there by underground, it is the best and the quickest way of transport here. We took the orange line from Republique to Gare de I'Est, changed to Purple line numer for to Barbes and then navy blu numer two to Anvers. From the underground station to the basilica leads narrow street packed with souvenirs designed especially for tourists where you may buy everything marked I love Paris ;)

The Sacre-Cour Basilica was built at the end of XIX century and you can see here a lot of Byzantine influences. I have read somewhere that it is an example of historism, a movement which was popular during the romanticism. The interior is decorated with amazing mosaics that show Jesus and some biblical stories.

We spent the rest of the day strolling around, admiring places, streets, cafes, observing the autumn in Montmartre. Our last stop for today was Moulin Rouge. We went home by underground from Place Pigalle.
